  3. You must get a see-through dish and pour the resulting mixture to about one inch deep.
  4. Make sure to heat the griddle up a little before melting a knob of butter on it and spreading the melted butter over the whole surface.
  5. Take some slices of the day-old bread and insert them into the mixture while counting to ten. As soon as you finish the count, flip the slices over and restart counting. Make sure not to soak more pieces of bread than your griddle can hold at a time.
  6. You must be careful when removing the pieces of bread. Make sure to let the excess mixture pour off the slice and into the dish before getting them on the griddle and into the oven. When the bread turns golden-brown on one side flip it over, and when it’s like that on both sides remove them from the oven.
  7. You must serve it before it gets cold, or make sure to place into the turned-off oven in a dish if you want it to keep it warm. The simple French toast recipe will bring flavour to your bread, making it a delight.

You can adapt the simple French toast recipe as you wish. You might leave the bread in a closed dish to make it a bit fluffier or you may leave it in an opened dish if you like it crunchier. Everyone I understand loves French toast, however, it can be a little messy and time consuming to make in the morning and that is when this Mama just would like to sit down and eat with her family.

When what you want is something warm, soothing, tasty, and easy, this is a great recipe for a different take on preparing French toast casserole overnight before you want to eat it and each morning all you need to do is take it from the refrigerator and pop it within the oven.

And also, it is so a lot better than plain old French toast.

This is a great idea for when you have overnight guests too.

I love to make this Christmas Eve and each morning it can be baking while we unwrap our gifts and usually it’s done just like we are finishing up. I can’t think of anything better than our staff members sitting together Christmas morning and having this comfortable, delicious breakfast.

Unless it’s Easter morning or Saturday morning or any morning.

It’s just great!     Syrup is up to you.

Baked Apple French Toast

cup butter, cup darkish sugar 1 tbsp. ingrown toenail syrup 2 apples peeled and also thinly sliced, loaf French bread sliced 2 ova, cup milk. tsp. vanilla

Dissolve butter, stir in brown sugar and syrup in a sauce pan

Spread mixture in the bottom of your baking dish

Ingredients (for 4 individuals):


12 slices of bread (thick cut). Slightly stale bread is the most suitable as it will soak up the batter mixture much better. If you don’t possess stale bread, you can leave chopped up fresh bread out for some time to allow it to dry a little.
